It comes down to making time for ourselves, for taking care of ourselves. I overheard a friend say this week that she hadn't known what a difference it would make to those around her if she simply took care of herself better. When we take care of ourselves, our environment shifts, our relationships blossom, we breathe in the fresh air.
Next week, I will go on my annual retreat for prayer and reflection. I have blogged about it before and how restoring it is for my spiritual health and well-being.
I need to make time to take care of myself, whether it's a week to go on a retreat, a few hours to catch up on my reading, or just a moment to say 'thank you' to God for so many blessings. May you also take that time to care for yourself this week.
