Our Little Free Library is part of a larger movement of library outposts throughout the world. The idea is to promote literacy and sharing books for children and adults alike. Take a book, return a book, and read, read, read!
The little free library is also an example of something more: that we all are part of a community with our neighbors even if we don't know them, and that we share with complete strangers. No one counts our small library on a GDP calculation, or numbers on the rate of job growth. No, there are some things in this world that have nothing to do with money and how much of it we can amass.
Some things are just about people sharing.
So, the next time you're in Center Square, stop on by the Little Free Library. Take a book. Return a book. And see the community we create when we have a little outpost of free giving in the midst of a possessive world.
